Spring has witnessed numerous political upheavals and social struggles that sought to challenge and overthrow the status quo. Among the most famous are the May 68 in Paris with its many replicas of student movements worldwide, the Prague Spring and more recently the Arab Spring. Spring is the season of revolts also in a metaphorical sense. With this cycle we want to account for all those who either from collective social movements, from their work in art or from their private sphere, have contributed to break taboos, to resist adversity, to challenge with a critical eye the socially established . On the other hand, the block "Political Challenges in a Global World" offers a panorama of what is happening worldwide without losing sight of a critical vision of the Western democratic model. HOME FILM CYCLE "SPRING REVOLT" On January 23, 2018, we began our film series about spring as a witness to numerous political upheavals and social struggles that sought to challenge and overthrow the status quo. In three thematic blocks the cycle I want to account for all those who either from collective social movements, from their work in art or from their private sphere, have contributed to break taboos, to resist adversity, to challenge with a critical eye the socially established. The block "Political Challenges in a Global World" offers a panorama of what is happening worldwide without losing sight of a critical vision of the Western democratic model. THE ÍMPETU This block contains films that show that impetus for wanting to change things in society. It is usually associated with youth, with that energy and passion that accompanies ideals of a more just society. The films of Harun Farocki give account of the Parisian student movement, that gave rise to the famous May of the 68 and its multiple world replicas.
